The 6SL7, like all dual triode tubes, contains two sections. Achieving a close match between these two sections is already challenging, but matching two tubes—four sections in total—becomes even more difficult when applying a high standard of matching.
Note: Some internet vendors only test one section of the tube due to the limitations of their vintage tube testers, such as the popular TV-7. As a result, tubes claimed to be matched may be based on the measurement of just one section, with the assumption that both sections are identical. However, that assumption is incorrect.
